Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Take and test samples
   • Extract sample in an appropriate manner
   • Apply test in accordance with procedures
   • Compare test results against specifications
   • Adjust mix as required to meet specifications
2. Discharge mixture
   • Charge load according to SOPs
   • Dispose of unwanted treated sand according to SOPs
3. Clean mixer
   • Shut down mixer to standard safety and operating procedures
   • Clean mixer
4. Determine job requirements
   • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
5. Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
6. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
7. Identify job requirements from specifications, job sheets or work instructions
   • Perform all pre start-up checks according to procedures
8. Determine formula for sand mix according to specifications
9. Measure and load materials according to formula specification
   • Mix sand for correct time to specifications
10. Monitor the performance of mixer and the condition of the sand
11. Maintain material supply
    • Extract sample in an appropriate manner
